A Bike Friend can be anything from a local individual to local shops, attractions, businesses and accommodation providers who want to help and support cycling tourism. During their normal opening hours, they are on hand to help.

Bike Friends exist to make you cycling holiday a bit easier. As a minimum, they give you the chance to pump up your tyres, fill your waterbottle, go to the toilet or help find the nearest one, and buy a local bike ticket or find out where to get one.

Additional help might also be available, including the sale of inner tubes, tools for fixing your bike, charging stations for electric bikes, snacks and refreshments to buy and benches for a picnic and a rest. Look out for the red signs.
